This is my first post in a couple of days, I had taken a few days hiatus from the internet to deal with work and to spend more alone time in prayer with God. A few weeks ago I wrote about spiritual warfare and how it can take it’s toll on the believer when we can be overcome with loneliness, depression and an overall sadness for a lost and decaying world. Thankfully the Lord has lifted me out of that slump and since then my faith and confidence in what I aim to achieve has been steadily increasing.
But today’s message I want to aim towards the Black Sheep, you know the loners, the “weirdos”, the people whom have none or very few friends. I know people that fit these “groups” tend to be the more introspective, empathetic, yet misunderstood group of people. And as thus they generally succumb to prolonged depression or have a lack of any real ambition in life as their energy get’s drained away. Now this is for both the “black sheep” that are Brothers and Sisters in Christ our Lord and Savior, as well as for those that are as of yet unsaved.
I know we all go through these feelings from time to time, that we have no one to rely on, or we feel alone and helpless. As believers grow in Faith we grow to learn to lean on God for our needs to be cared for and over time see God working in our DAILY life, but for new believers or the unsaved that may not be so clear. Yet you can rest assured that you have NEVER been alone!
Luke 12:7 “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”
Matthew 10:30 “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”
Here we have two verses from the New Testament Scriptures how each hair on our head is numbered. NUMBERED, not merely counted. Each hair is specific. We know looking at the human body how much care went into it’s design from our Loving Father in Heaven Above, but we can see proof that each of us is special in our own fingerprints. Each fingerprint is UNIQUE to an individual. God formed you in your Mother’s womb, God breathed the breath of life into our tiny lungs.
God has been with you since your very formation, he’s been there for the good times, the bad times. The times you were deep in sin, or the times you were weeping over a loved one. He was there when you were at your darkest hour, battling depression and considering tying that noose to end it all, he was the voice in your conscientiousness keeping you from taking that act while Satan beckoned you to end it all.
God is with the drug addict that is lost in a downward spiral. He is with the prostitute that needs to raise money for bills and to feed her child. He was there for every laugh you ever laughed, and every tear you ever shed, for every smile you ever smiled, or any time you got angry at another man or woman. God is always with you, he is always there tugging on your Spirit to come to him, and accept his Finished Sacrifice, to account for the remission of ALL sins for those that believe and repent.
I can sympathize with all these “black sheep” out there that face ridiculous amounts of torment, ridicule and bullying on a daily basis through public education for being different from everyone else, for not fitting into a clique. And no matter where you go that only continues, although it is not nearly as terrible as it is at public schools. But when these times comes and you feel overwhelmed with self hatred, or just wishing you could be normal like everyone else, just remember that you are ordained. God knew you and your entire life before you were even born. He knows you by your name, he knows everything about you. He knows every sin you ever did and even still, his love for you remains as he sent his only Begotten Son to give you redemption if you would only BELIEVE!
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
So if any of you are feeling these negative emotions or feelings, or feel like there are no options left, please just know that God is right there. He’s only waiting for you to call out to him!
Luke 15:10 “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”
God and his angels take joy when a sinner comes seeking God, and receives the gift of Grace.
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
God can elevate you out of any hardship you may be dealing with, or provide a new solution to a reoccurring problem. Just call out to him! Don’t be afraid to humble yourself and seek him out. You can find great joy, peace and security from having a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ. For it is through him that bore all our sins, our pains, our troubles, our burdens, and he went to the grave for us, and even still rose from the dead and allowed us to have eternal life alongside him. Please seek him out.
